Marijuana legalization took place in Canada through the Cannabis Act on October 17, 2018.

Marijuana is illegal for anyone under 19, and is considered a controlled substance, like alcohol. And just like alcohol, we don’t allow cannabis in our schools. Our existing policies and Code of Conduct apply. They prohibit intoxication, impairment, as well as the smoking of any substance, vaping, or drinking on school property.
One of the Canadian government’s Ìýcreates serious criminal penalties for those who sell or provide cannabis to youth. It also establishes new offences and strict penalties for those who use youth to commit a cannabis offence.
